This course is designed to address three areas that are critical to the transformed role of the professional school counselor and to the success of comprehensive school counseling programs. The first, an overview of school based consultation will expose students to roles, models, and theories related to effective collaboration with educational partners. Secondly, significant issues impacting the academic and life success of school-aged children will be explored. Finally, the essential elements of designing and facilitating data-driven school-based interventions will be demonstrated. Emphasis will be placed on the services comprising the Delivery System of the ASCA National Model for School Counseling Programs (ASCA, 2005)
