Student Handbook: Letter from the President

Dear Friends and Members of the Marywood Community,

As we begin another exciting year at Marywood University, I am pleased that you are here to be a part of it. Whether you are new to Marywood or returning to campus, I encourage you to envision all the ways you can make a difference. Marywood is a place for realizing potential and possibility; your talents and abilities, your dreams and aspirations -- all are welcome here.

Get involved and stay active! Enjoy our new Aquatics Center and support our men's and women's swimming and diving teams.  Men's Golf aslo has been added to our varsity sports offerings, bringing the number of varsity teams at Marywood to 17.  There is something to suit everyone's interests, whether you are a dedicated athlete or an avid fan. There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer and join clubs of interest.  Each year, the University presents a full schedule of cultural events in visual, performing, and other creative arts. We practice human rights awareness and encourage all to lead a sustainable life. Whatever your gifts and talents, you can make a difference by participating in local, national, and international service activities sponsored by Marywood University. Finally, there are countless opportunities to display your scholarship and research efforts in your chosen academic discipline.

This convenient datebook-style calendar/student handbook will be a helpful tool for you to manage your active life -- you can plan schedules, set goals, keep track of dates and deadlines, stay apprised of policies, and record all of the important events that make your Marywood experience meaningful. Imagine all the wonderful things you can do -- then do them! Embrace every chance to grow, learn and touch the lives of others. I look forward to seeing you on campus and at the many events and activities that Marywood hosts each semester.

May you enjoy a successful and abundantly blessed year at Marywood University!

Sincerely,

Sister Anne Munley, IHM, Ph.D.
President of the University
