Themed housing communities have a rich history at Marywood University.  The purpose of a themed housing community is to foster a sense of community responsibility, personal growth and a connection to the larger institution through intensive theme-based programming within a small residential environment.  Expectations for each themed housing community include:

  • Educating community members on topics directly related to the theme
  • Hosting at least one themed housing community event/activity per semester open to all members of the Marywood University community
  • Members actively participating in the development and undertaking of community goals
  • Working with a Faculty or Staff advisor on accomplishing community goals

Themed housing community applications were submitted in April 2013.  Applications were reviewed by a selection committee consisting of faculty, staff, and students. Approved themed housing communities for the 2013-2014 academic year are:
