Program and Research Development Awards

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs announces the availability of support to faculty members who wish to develop program/department or college related research proposals or grants for external funding. A limited number is available. Selection will be made in consultation with deans and Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Eligibility:  All tenure-track, tenured, and clinical faculty are eligible to apply.

Awards:  The award will be a Summer stipend based on rank or a course release for Fall 2014 or Spring 2015.

Application Deadline:  May 2, 2014

Notification Date:  June 13, 2014

Funds Available: July 1, 2014

Grant funds must be expended by June 1, 2015

Report on use of funds and status of project:  September 30, 2015 

Proposal for external funding of project:  September 30, 2016  (This may vary depending on deadline of funding agency.)

Clearance

  • Approval of Department Chair and Dean required (email message or hard copy)

 

Priority will be given to applicants whose projects demonstrate high potential for external funding.  The potential request for external funding should be estimated to exceed $75,000.

The ORSP will provide support and assistance to the successful applicants in obtaining external funding.  All program and research grant proposals developed as a result of this project will be subject to university proposal review and approval procedures prior to submission for external funding.
