Founder and first chair of the Section on Effective and Sound Administration in the Middle East (SESAME) at the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). Founder of the Section on Complexity and System Studies Network (CSN) and ASPA. An international scholar (in teaching, publications, conference presentations, affiliations and organizational networking and activities). Extensive experience in nonprofit leadership. Recipient of many awards from Marywood University, Pi Alpha Alpha, and the American Political Science Association (APSA). Nominated for CASE United States Professor of the Year Award. Author of numerous books, book chapeters, and journal articles. Editor of various journal symposiums. Member of the board of directors in several nonprofit agencies. Also an artist and a poet.

Research Interests

Complexity and systems studies, Middle Eastern studies, foreign policy and national security studies, public policy analysis, political philosophy.
