Research Interests

Dr. Muse-Burke conducts research and teaches in the areas of clinical supervision and counselor training, spirituality and religiosity in counseling and psychotherapy, and scale construction.

Janet L. Muse-Burke, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Counseling at Marywood University. In addition, she is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania, and she maintains a private practice in downtown Scranton. Dr. Muse-Burke earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Lehigh University (APA-accredited). She has co-authored three book chapters, three empirical articles, and two assessment tools related to clinical supervision. Further, she has published two articles and a book chapter (in press) in spirituality and counseling. Additionally, she developed the Inclusive Spirituality Index, which has been used in Africa, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Spain, and the United States. Dr. Muse-Burke is a frequent presenter on clinical supervision and spirituality at state, national, and international conferences.
