The Physical Plant Department is responsible for maintaining the entire campus in a manner that is beneficial to learning and safety. Superintendant of Trades:
|
The Trades Department is responsible for the planning, construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance of all University buildings and facilities. The services provided include but are not limited to providing utilities, elevator maintenance, preventative maintenance on heating & air conditioning equipment, keys, roof repairs, event setups, moving services, painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, recycling, pest control,scheduling chemical/medical waste disposal and updating the Material Safety Data Sheets on campus. All environmental safety issues are handled through this department. |
Superintendant of Building Services:

The Physical Plant provides housekeeping services to administrative, academic, and residential buildings on a daily basis. Classrooms, offices, hallways, and stairways are cleaned on a scheduled basis. Restrooms are cleaned and serviced daily. Windows, carpets, and floors are maintained periodically depending on academic schedule. The custodial staff controls snow and ice on entrance ways and walks leading into buildings. Building services also includes general maintenance and custodial work in all academic and residence hall buildings and the maintenance of classrooms and public spaces including furnishings. |
Superintendant of Grounds:

The grounds department is responsible for the maintenance & landscaping of the university grounds, the upkeep of sidewalks and roadways as well as maintaining the fleet of University vehicles & equipment. Marywood University takes a great deal of pride in the appearance of its building and grounds. The Physical Plant employs a grounds crew that is responsible for turf maintenance, care of shrubs, plantings, and trees; road and walk cleaning and maintenance; and snow and ice control. It takes conscious efforts on everyone’s part to help keep the campus grounds and buildings as free of litter, graffiti, and abuse as possible. Please help keep your campus clean. |
Maintenance Planner/Scheduler:

The Physical Plant planner/scheduler oversees the moving of furniture/offices, event setups in all buildings, recycling pickup, ordering paint & supplies for work orders, mail courier, keeping parts inventoried and supplied and also creating and receiving purchase orders in Datastream. All special event set ups are coordinated through this area and we respectfully request at least 2 weeks prior to any event, so we can staff and prepare properly. |

Preventative Maintenance Coordinator: |
The Preventative Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for creating all preventative maintenance work orders for equipment throughout campus. The positions also requires maintaining and updating all CAD drawings of campus, as well as looking for ways to save on and control the University's energy costs. |
Department Assistant: |
The department assistant provides the initial contact regarding service for problems on campus during normal hours of operation. This includes but is not limited to greeting visitors to Physical Plant, distribute visitor badges, input work orders, dispatching service, issuing purchase orders, ensuring invoices are prepared for payment, maintaining the web site, contacting vendors with service or repairs & handling calls from students, parents, employees and Chartwells staff as necessary. |
