Personnel Handbook: Code of Conduct

Employees of Marywood University are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. In the best interest of everyone, the following are examples of violations of the code of conduct, which may result in warning, suspension, or dismissal depending on the seriousness of the violation and the employee’s employment history. This list is not all-inclusive. Marywood University reserves the right to repeat or bypass steps depending on the severity of the infraction.

  • working while under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, or possessing, using, distributing or selling alcohol or narcotics on campus;
  • fraternizing with students;
  • engaging in discriminatory practices;
  • engaging in harassment of others;
  • fighting or participating in acts of violence or threatening or provoking acts of violence;
  • stealing or intentionally destroying University property;
  • using University property for unauthorized personal us;
  • carelessly disregarding safety rules;
  • refusing to perform assigned lawful tasks, or performing such assignments in an insubordinate manner;
  • intentionally providing false or misleading information to obtain employment, or falsifying time or expense reporting.
