Lori E. Swanchak, PhD, PA-C

Dr. Lori Swanchak attended the Williamsport Hospital and Medical Center Paramedic Training Institute where she graduated as a Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedic in 1991. She spent several years in Emergency Medicine, serving Scranton and the surrounding communities as a Paramedic. Dr. Swanchak also played an integral role in developing the EMT-Paramedic Program at Lackawanna Junior College in Scranton and later served two years as the Course Director. In 2001, Dr. Swanchak graduated Summa Cum Laude from Marywood University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree specializing in Physician Assistant Studies. In May of 2003, she earned a Masters degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska with an emphasis in Emergency Medicine.In 2010, Dr. Swanchak earned her PhD. in Human Development specializing in Health Promotion. The following year her dissertation entitled, Physician Assistants' Perception of an Entry Level Doctorate Degree was published in The Journal of Physician Assistant Education.

Dr. Swanchak joined Marywood University in March 2002 as the Clinical Coordinator of the Physician Assistant Program. In addition, she serves as the Physician Assistant Student Society Advisor as well as on numerous committees on campus. In May 2006, Dr. Swanchak was awarded the Student Academy of the AAPA President's Award. Dr. Swanchak resides in Dalton with her husband and twin daughters, Allison and Madison.
