Announcement added 2/13/2009.
This year the four colleges will sponsor an event to give students and faculty an opportunity to share with their colleagues the research projects they are working on. The forum is also open to graduate students who have completed professional contributions or specific culminating projects.
The Graduate Research Forum will be held on Thursday, April 23rd from 4 pm until 6 pm in the Rotunda of the Liberal Arts Center. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN DATE FROM THAT LISTED ON THE UNIVERSITY CALENDAR.
The format of this event will once again be that of poster board presentation. Presenters will prepare a poster board visual that summarizes the key components of the project. It should be large enough to be read by others. In addition, presenters will be encouraged to prepare brief written handouts for discussion to interested colleagues. Small tables will be available for presenters to display relevant material.
All other members of the Marywood community and the public are invited to attend this event, to browse among the displays, to engage the presenters in one-on-one and small group discussion, and to benefit from the wide array of investigation and innovation being carried on by graduate students across the university
Because the poster board format will allow for many more presentations, participation is not strictly competitive. However, student presenters will need a faculty sponsor. Students involved in their theses or professional contributions are particularly encouraged to participate, but all students are welcome. If you wish to participate as a presenter in this year's forum, see your faculty advisor as soon as possible.
Student presenters must submit an electronic copy of an abstract (MS Word preferred) to their faculty sponsors who will review the abstract for accuracy and completeness. The faculty sponsor will then forward the electronic copy of approved abstracts for inclusion in the Graduate Research Forum Program.
Faculty are asked to submit copy ready abstracts via electronic attachment to Joseph Polizzi at japolizzi@marywood.edu not later than 5:00 pm of April 3, 2009.
