OIT User Support Services

User Support Services provides support and training in a variety of computer applications including administrative systems such as the iSeries and Colleague, Google Apps, Moodle, and Microsoft Office. Training facilities and a public Help Desk are located in the Library.

This division of OIT also provides service to students utilizing computer labs. These labs can be found in each major classroom building (Center for Natural and Health Sciences, Center for Performing Arts, Studio Arts Center, Visual Arts Center, Center for Healthy Families, McGowan Center). Computer assistance is usually available in these labs whenever a semester is in session.

The computer labs are available on a drop-in basis whenever they are not reserved for classes. Applications include Microsoft Office (an integrated suite which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook), Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks, inDesign, Go Live), SPSS, Quark Express, Visual Studio, Foodworks, GeriMenu, Inspiration, Kurzweil 3000, and other specialized software in the various disciplines. All labs are equipped with laser printers, scanners and DVD/CD-RW drives.

Specifically, User Support Services provides the following to faculty, staff and students in the applications we support (please contact our office for further details):

  • Hands-on workshops
  • A Help Desk service (340-6070) for reporting technical problems or asking software questions (you can also send an e-mail to helpdesk@marywood.edu)

  • One-on-one training regarding specific aspects of our supported software that the workshops do not cover
