Simple Maintenance
Is your computer running slow? Worried that you might have a virus and don’t know how to get rid of it? This workshop will help you perform simple maintenance on your computer to help it run more efficiently. You will be shown how to run Disk Defrag, Disk Cleanup and a Virus Scan on your computer and on your flash drive. Bring your flash drive to the class if you would like.
Windows XP Operating System Functions
What Operating System are you running? Clear my cache? In this 1 ½ hour workshop we will summarize a little history of the computer, use the proper vocabulary, and spend a lot of hands-on time with the functions of an operating system (those things you can do even before opening any application). You will learn how to arrange and create shortcut icons on your desktop, and change the background; learn how to retrieve a document sent to the Recycle Bin; see what can be accomplished in My Computer, Windows Explorer and the Control Panel; change how you view your folders and much more.
