Research Interests:

Menopausal health; urinary health across women's lifespan; innovative nursing curriculum design; and, service learning in nursing education.

Dr. Higgins, Ph.D., APRN, FAANP is the Chair of the Nursing Department, moving to Scranton from Maine (St. Joseph College).  She has been a faculty and Chair of several colleges/universities teaching in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.  Dr. Higgins is a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and has a Ph.D. in Child and Family Studies from the University of Maine.  Her Specialization is urogynecology and menapausal transition.
