Employment and Internship/Externship Opportunities

Nurse Internship positions are posted on the website for any Seniors that are interested.  The internship will run for their spring semester starting in January (or February).  We modified the requirements to include that the person being considered needs to commit to at least 1 year of employment as an RN following the completion of the internship.
You can go to  www.commonwealthhealth.net, select Careers, Hospital Opportunities, select Moses Taylor Hospital and find the Nurse Intern positions to apply to.

Moses Taylor Hospital Nurse Internship for the Spring

The Nurse Internship is completed on the Med Surg/Telemetry floor (openings for this one).  A student in the spring semester of their Senior year would commit to an internship and then 1 year of employment following the internship on that same floor.  After that, you are free to apply to other departments in the building or otherwise.

During the internship, the student will be required to work 1 weekend/month and 2 days/week.  That requirement can be met by working a minimum of 4 hr, 8hr or 12 hr shifts. (7a-11a, 11a-3p, 3p-7p or 7p-11p).  When the student works a weekend, which for day shift is considered Sat/Sun, that can count towards the 2 days per week.

The student will be assigned a preceptor and work with this person until they graduate and obtain their RN Permit.

At that time, the pay rate will increase to the RN rate and the eligibility for the Sign-On bonus goes into motion.  The student will work the shift that is available, so if dayshift is not available, they will work the night shift.  All our RN shifts are 12 hours.

To apply, go to www.commonwealthhealth.net, select Careers, Hospital Opportunities, select Moses Taylor Hospital and find the Nurse Intern positions to apply to.
