Boxes will be placed throughout campus or supplies can be dropped off in Campus Ministry. The shelter is in most need of cat litter, canned cat food, aspen small animal bedding, rabbit/guinea pig food, kitten food and dry cat food. Chaperone an upcoming Spring Break Service Trip! During Spring Break (March 3-10) a group of Marywood Students will travel to Philadelphia, PA to serve the community in a variety of ways. Partnering with the St. Vincent DePaul Center, volunteers will serve the homeless, work in a thrift store, repair buildings and visit persons with mental/intellectual disabilities. One more chaperone is needed to accompany the students and to assist in their preparation for the trip. All chaperone expenses are paid and staff may use Community Service benefit days to attend this trip. On Wednesday night, February 1, 2012, Marywood University Women's and Men's Basketball Teams will take on Philadelphia Biblical University in the Mellow Center. All monies raised during this event, including admission fees collected at the door, and a 'donation net' will be given to Catholic Relief Services to provide malaria nets for children in Africa. According to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, nearly 1 million people die from malaria each year, most of them children in Africa. Any donations for the event can be sent to Sr. John Michele in Campus Ministry, Swartz Center for Spiritual Life, any time before Feb. 15, 2012.
