United Way's Healthy Food Drive Now through Wed. Aug. 31

Wed, August 17, 2011

As part of the United Way's 17th annual Day of Caring, Marywood University is joining with the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties to hold a healthy food drive from now through Wednesday, August 31. Demand at area food pantries is up by at least 35 percent, but the amount of food available is dropping. We can all help and make a difference. Although we and the United Way will be grateful for any food donation, we have been asked to focus on collecting the following items: canned vegetables (especially low sodium) canned meats (such as tuna in water, chicken, etc.) Please make sure that whatever you donate is non-perishable, non-expired, and in non-breakable containers. Please bring your donations to: Human Resources (Liberal Arts 86) Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
