A new partnership between Marywood University and COLTS Bus Line allows university students, staff and faculty to gain bus transportation—free of charge. As of January 9, Marywood students, faculty and staff can ride anywhere in the county for free by showing their university ID. Marywood is subsidizing COLTS for this service.
COLTS runs 26 direct service routes Monday through Friday beginning at 6 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. Saturday service runs from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The County of Lackawanna Transit System was formed in October 1972 under the Municipal Authorities Act of 1945. COLTS was officially certified by the state as a municipal authority in November 1972.
According to COLTS, the company, "looks forward to a partnership with the institution and welcomes the chance to work with other colleges in the area."
