Marywood Promotes Reading through Biannual Book Swap
For the past 13 years, Marywood University has been promoting books and reading through its biannual book swap. The University's fall book swap will take place on Thursday, October 31, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Fireplace Lounge in Marywood's Nazareth Student Center. This event is free and open to the public.
In the age of Nooks, Kindles, and other digital reading devices, Marywood's book swap continues to thrive. Attendees longing to still turn an actual page can swap old books for new ones or purchase books ranging in price from fifty cents to one dollar.
Attendees can expect to choose from a wide selection of titles and genres, including digital books. All proceeds will benefit university-related initiatives, such as Thanksgiving baskets for needy families and the Barbara Hoffman Composition Award.
The book swap is sponsored by Lambda Iota Tau (the International English Honor Society) and Marywood's Library Services staff.
