Marywood Presents A Little Night Music

A Little Night Music, a classic musical that follows the romantic lives of several couples, will be presented by the Music, Theatre, and Dance Department from March 21-22. Each performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for the Performing Arts.

The show takes its inspiration from Ingmar Bergman's comedy of manners, Smiles of a Summer Night, and includes the classic song "Send in the Clowns." This musical showcases Marywood University's masterful actors, singers, orchestra, and production staff to create an unforgettable night of theatre. The production is staged and choreographed under the direction of alumna and professional actor Maura Malloy.

The artistic staff includes Maura Malloy, stage director and choreographer; Tom Heinze, music director; Rick Hoffenberg, D.M.A., associate director of choral conducting, vocal director; Gary Lippi, scenic designer; Mary Ann Swords-Greene, costume designer; Robert Lozada (who also plays the role of Redrick), lighting designer; and James Langan, sound designer.

The management staff includes Paulette Merchel, Ph.D., associate professor and director of theatre at Marywood University (who also plays the role of Mdme. Armfeldt), producer; Ryan Houser, stage manager; Judith Snyder, production manager; and Patrick Toomey, technical director.
