Marywood Presents "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)"

Published on Tue, October 26, 2010

Marywood University's Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance present The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield from November 3- 6 at 7:30 p. m. in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) parodies the plays by William Shakespeare performed by only six actors. Imagine if you can, Shakespeare's grisly horror, Titus Andronicus, done as a Julia Child cooking show or Othello performed as a rap. This funny send-up played at the Criterion Theatre in London for nine record-breaking years. It has become one of the world's most popular shows, playing frequently in a variety of languages. It is notable for holding the (self-proclaimed) world record for the shortest-ever performance of Hamlet, clocking in at 43 seconds.
