The Marywood University Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Nathaniel F. Parker, will perform a concert on Sunday, October 24, at 4 p.m. in the Main Theatre, Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts.
The program opens with the charming and powerful "Hungarian March" from Hector Berlioz's epic musical setting of Goethe's Faust. Marywood faculty artist, Christiane Appenheimer-Vaida, will be the featured soloist in the virtuosic 'Cello Concerto No. 1 by Camille Saint-Saëns. The program concludes with four movements from Gustav Holst's monumental orchestral suite, The Planets.
