Marywood University received a $20,000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. The grant will be used to service Lackawanna County residents who are interested in receiving their GED and will enroll in one of Marywood University's on-campus preparation courses for the national exam. The Dollar General Literacy Foundation was established in 1993 to help increase the functional literacy of adults, families and children and is an extension of Dollar General's corporate commitment to literacy.
Enrollment opportunities are still open. Multilevel literacy and English as a Second Language classes are also offered through December. Interested individuals may contact, Ann Janowicz, Program Director at (570)348-6211, ext. 2248, or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
