Marywood University's Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance presents All in the Timing by David Ives on September 29, 30 and October 1, 2 at 7:30 p.m. and on October 3 at 2 p.m. in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts.
This funny set of one-acts is sure to tickle your funny bone. In Sure Thing a man and a woman meet for the first time in a café and experience a sort of Groundhog Day existence. Words, Words, Words asks, can three chimpanzees write Hamlet, even if they don't know what it is? The Universal Language teaches us to speak Unamunda! Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread is a musical send-up of minimalist composer Philip Glass. In The Philadelphia, a man finds himself in a strange state where he must ask for the opposite of what he wants in order to get what he wants. Finally, in Variations on the Death of Trotsky the Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky dies over and over from an assassin's axe. It sounds rather gruesome but this time the tears are from laughing.
