Sister Anne Munley, IHM, Ph.D., Marywood University President, recently announced that two new trustees have been elected to Marywood's Board of Trustees. In addition, a new slate of officers was elected for the 2010-2011 year.

Board officers for 2010-2011 include Joan Banick Brooks, Chair; Marion Munley, Vice Chair; Antonia M. Schierling, Secretary, and Richard P. Kane, Treasurer.

Newly-elected trustees are Peter J. Danchak and Mary Kay Rotert.

Peter J. Danchak:

Mr. Danchak is the regional president of the Northeast Pennsylvania region of PNC Bank, a member of the The PNC Financial Services Group. He joined PNC Bank in 1984 and worked his way through the corporate banking ranks, culminating with an appointment to his current position in 2001.

Active in the community, Mr. Danchak serves as co-chair of the Pennsylvania Early Learning Investment Commission and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council of Pre-K Counts in Pennsylvania. He sits on the board of directors at King's College, Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania, the ARC of Northeastern Pennsylvania Foundation, the Regional Chamber Partnership, the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, Lackawanna Industrial Fund Enterprises, Scranton Industrial Development Company (SIDCo), Scranton Lackawanna Industrial Building Company (SLIBCO), and the Scranton Plan Executive Committee. In addition, he serves as a member of the University of Scranton Board of Regents and as an advisory board member for the University of Scranton Kania School of Management.

Mr. Danchak holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Scranton.

Mary Kay Rotert:

Ms. Rotert is a retired oncology nurse practitioner. During her career, she specialized in hospice and home care. She has served for 30 years as a contributing manuscript editor of Cancer Nursing: An International Journal for Cancer Care. Her professional experiences also have included executive positions with Richmond Visiting Nurse Association and Richmond Memorial Hospital and work as a clinical specialist and nurse-coordinator of the Liver Transplant Program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Ms. Rotert's current community activities include service as the immediate past president of the board for the Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club, as well as director posts and trusteeships on several boards, including Rappahannock General Hospital Foundation, Kilmarnock, Va.; Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury (a Continuing Care Retirement Community), Kilmarnock, Va., and the American Red Cross, Kilmarnock, Va. Chapter. She is a volunteer nurse practitioner for the Northern Neck Free Health Clinic, Kilmarnock, Va., which provides free medical care to uninsured and underinsured patients. Her past board affiliations also include the Virginia Association for Hospices, for which she was a founding member; Carpenter Center for the Performing Arts; Richmond Symphony, Auxiliary Association; Richmond Senior Center; and a clinical associate faculty post in community health for the Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Nursing, Richmond, Va.

A Registered Nurse, Ms. Rotert earned a Master of Science in Oncology Nursing from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wilkes University.
