Required for all students living on campus, this session is the first step toward creating great communities. Meet other new freshmen and transfer residents, get introduced to the student staff members, and gain an understanding of the expectations of living in University housing.

Design-Your-Own Bags

Celebrate the new school year by designing and decorating your own tote bag or laundry bag (while supplies last.)

Passport to Scranton Vendor Fair/Lunch 

Area vendors and service agencies will be present to welcome you to the Marywood campus and to the Scranton area. Check out the displays and learn what the area has to offer. Pick up tickets for this evening's Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees game. Sign up for Saturday's day trips at no charge at this event on a first-come, first-served basis. See the Saturday schedule in this guide for more information about trips to Dorney Amusement Park, Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark, The Crossings Premium Outlets, and the Lackawanna State Park. Lunch will be provided at the Vendor Fair; the Main Dining Room will be closed for new freshmen and transfer students.

Transitions Program for Transfer Students 

Registration will occur 12:30 - 1:15 pm. Meet other new transfer students, faculty, and staff as you participate in a program designed to provide information related to academic resources, student services, and opportunities to get involved on campus.

Off-Campus Bus Trips 

Be sure to sign up at the Passport to Scranton Vendor Fair on Friday to reserve your space for the off-campus bus trips to Dorney Amusement Park, Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark, the Crossings Outlet Mall, and Lackawanna State Park. Limited space is available. Park admission is covered by your student activities fees; lunch will only be provided to those going to the Lackawanna State Park. Be certain to arrive early so you don't miss the transportation.

• The Dorney Amusement Park bus and the Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark will both leave at 9:00 am from the Nazareth Parking Lot.
• The Crossings Outlet Mall bus and the Lackawanna State Park bus will depart at 10:00 am from the Nazareth Parking Lot.
• All trips will return by 5:00 pm.

Game Room Open 

Frisbees, volleyballs, kick balls, etc. will be available to be borrowed from the Student Activities and Leadership Development Office in 107, Nazareth Hall.

Campus-Wide Capture the Flag

Take part in a campus-wide capture the flag game! A variety of board games will also be available in the Fireplace Lounge, Nazareth Student Center.

New Student Welcome Mass

Welcome home! Please join us as we celebrate God's presence in our lives for this Mass with our new freshmen and transfer students. 

Trips to Wal-Mart and the Viewmont Mall 

Take the opportunity to visit Wal-Mart and the Viewmont Mall for some last minute back-to-school shopping. The first bus leaves Marywood at 1:00 pm and the second bus leaves at 2:00 pm. Buses will return to campus at 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

Meet returning upperclassmen students and join in the fellowship of the student community.  Sponsored by the Campus Ministry Office. Light refreshments will be available.

Late Night 

Feeling hungry? The Main Dining Room will be open with a selection of student favorites. Remember to bring your student ID as this counts on your meal plan. Late Night is regularly served Sun. - Thurs. nights.
