Marywood University Arboretum in partnership with Penn State Master Gardeners in Lackawanna County present the Master Gardener Series. All events begin at 7 p.m. in Conference Room B, Swartz Center.


April 8- Getting the Garden Ready for Spring

Presented by Gretchen Ludders, Master Gardener since 2008 and Colleen Bobrovcan, Master Gardener 2005

Learn the importance of appraising the overall condition of your garden after the winter and amending and testing your soil. Get advice on choosing disease-resistant and native plants.


April 15- Making Gardening Eco-friendly

Learn how you can garden and protect the environment. Find out about organics, "going green" and reducing storm water runoff.


April 22- Integrated Pest Management

Presented by Lee Grimes, Master Gardener since 2007

April 29- Rain Barrels and Rain Gardens
