The ninth annual "Celebrate Your Body Wellness Fair" will be held on Thursday, February 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fireplace Lounge of Nazareth Student Center on the campus of Marywood University.
The "Celebrate Your Body Wellness Fair" is an interactive program used to promote positive body image, fitness and personal health. There will be informational booths on personal health care; nutrition; physical fitness; positive body image; yoga and meditation; massages; blood pressure screenings; lung function screening; as well as eating attitude screenings. The American Lung Association, Uno Fitness, Inner Harmony, McCann Massage School and the Sleep Lab of NEPA are among the community resources involved in the fair.
The "Celebrate Your Body" Wellness Fair is hosted by Marywood University's Counseling/Student Development Center and Peers on Wellness. Other participating Marywood departments will be Student Activities, Student Health Services, Physician Assistant Program, Nutrition and Dietetics, Athletics Department, Student Nursing Association, Chartwell's Dining, Human Performance Lab and the Marywood library.
Of particular note, Peers on Wellness will be sponsoring a Celebrate Your Body clothes drive that will support Haiti. It will be a chance for all of us to donate clothes that no longer fit us to Haitians in great need of clothing. Look for the donation boxes around campus, starting Feb. 15th. In addition, POW! will be selling "I love my genes" t-shirts at the fair, with proceeds to benefit a Haitian charity.
All students, faculty and staff are welcome! Come enjoy the free food, plenty of giveaways, and lots of helpful information on wellness!
