Marywood University will celebrate Fall Academic Convocation and honor Dalton Conley, Ph.D., on September 16, at 11 a.m. in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts. Dr. Conley serves as a University Professor and Dean for the Social Sciences at New York University. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Community Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. The Marywood University Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Nathaniel F. Parker, will present their final performance of the 2009-2010 season on Sunday, April 25, at 4p.m. in the Holy Family Residence Auditorium (2500 Adams Ave.). The concert is open to the public and admission is free. The program will feature classical and pops favorites in the style of the BBC Proms concerts. The program includes Schubert's "Unfinished" Symphony, Sibelius's tone poem Finlandia, and celebrated works from the American musical theater repertoire, such as Bernstein's West Side Story, Willson's The Music Man, and a medley of songs by Irving Berlin.

Marywood University's Attention Disorders Clinic will host its first Focus Festival on Wednesday, April 21 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. in the Latour Room, Nazereth Center. The Focus Festival will increase student awareness of the factors that enhance and impair attention and concentration. Students will compete in a variety of attention and memory challenges, as well as learn about web sites that can improve attention, concentration, and working memory.
