Marywood University has been named to the 2009 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement. Out of 780 applicants, Marywood was one of the 115 schools with distinction. This is the second consecutive year for Marywood University to be included on the Honor Roll.
The Marywood Wind Ensemble will perform a musical program inspired by the joy of dance and the freedom of unbridled movement on Sunday, March 28 at 7 p .m. in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts.
The Counseling and Student Development Center at Marywood University in collaboration with the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service (DATS) will provide free, confidential alcohol screenings on Tuesday, March 23 in recognition of National Alcohol Screening Day (NASD). The Alcohol Screening Day program will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Fireplace Lounge, Nazareth Student Center.
Internationally renowned and award-winning pianist, educator, and Bach specialist Fr. Seán Duggan, OSB, will present a performance of keyboard works by Johann Sebastian Bach on Thursday, March 18, at 8:00 p.m. in the Marian Chapel, Schwartz Center for Spiritual Life.
