Tue, April 20, 2010The Marywood University Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Nathaniel F. Parker, will present their final performance of the 2009-2010 season on Sunday, April 25, at 4p.m. in the Holy Family Residence Auditorium (2500 Adams Ave.). The concert is open to the public and admission is free. The program will feature classical and pops favorites in the style of the BBC Proms concerts. The program includes Schubert's "Unfinished" Symphony, Sibelius's tone poem Finlandia, and celebrated works from the American musical theater repertoire, such as Bernstein's West Side Story, Willson's The Music Man, and a medley of songs by Irving Berlin. Tue, April 20, 2010Marywood University's Attention Disorders Clinic will host its first Focus Festival on Wednesday, April 21 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. in the Latour Room, Nazereth Center. The Focus Festival will increase student awareness of the factors that enhance and impair attention and concentration. Students will compete in a variety of attention and memory challenges, as well as learn about web sites that can improve attention, concentration, and working memory. Students also have the opportunity to play games that actually move objects based on "brain activity."
