Wed, October 13, 2010President Sister Anne Munley, IHM, has announced that the Marywood University Athletics and Recreation Department will add men's golf to the sports sponsorship package at the beginning of the 2011-2012 academic year. Men's golf will be Marywood's 17th varsity sport, joining men's and women's lacrosse and men's and women's swimming and diving as sports added since 2008.

Fri, October 08, 2010Marywood University present Al Williamson: A Tribute today through Oct. 11 in the Mahady Gallery, Shields Center for Visual Arts. The reception will be held October 8 from 6-9 p.m. The exhibition covers sixty years of his art (1950-2010) including over 60 pieces of original art, trading cards, and posters. The exhibit also includes a Flash Gordon record album and pages of Corrigan and Flash Gordon work, Eerie ("The Jungle") and Epic Illustrated ("Relic") covers, Weird Science page from the 50s, a page from Bladerunner, Dark Horse "One Last Job," and Sub-Mariner.
Thu, October 07, 2010Marywood University received a $20,000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. The grant will be used to service Lackawanna County residents who are interested in receiving their GED and will enroll in one of Marywood University’s on-campus preparation courses for the national exam. The Dollar General Literacy Foundation was established in 1993 to help increase the functional literacy of adults, families and children and is an extension of Dollar General’s corporate commitment to literacy.
Thu, October 07, 2010The Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance presents Duo Recital by Rick Hoffenberg, piano, and Mark Laubach, organ. The recital will include Marcel Dupre, Ballade for organ and piano, Op. 30; Igor Stravinsky, Firebird Suite, transcribed for organ and piano; solo organ and piano music by Johannes Brahms, William Bolcom, and Nikolai Kapustin. The events are free and open to the public.
