Marywood University Holds Annual Electronics Recycling Event- April 17Mon, April 12, 2010 Marywood University will hold an Electronics Recycling event on April, 17 from 9a.m.-2p.m. in the “Pit” parking lot. (Directional signs will be posted throughout campus.) Individuals, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to bring their old electronic items to campus to be properly recycled by Waste Management. Last year, members of the community brought in over 7.2 tons of electronics for recycling. This year, the recycling event committee hopes to double that amount and collect 15 tons of recyclable electronics. Almost all electronic equipment that plug- in or has embedded batteries will be accepted. Examples of the most commonly collected items are as follows: computer monitors, keyboards, CPUs, printers, cell phones, televisions, VCRs, stereo equipment, fax machines, and corded and cordless phones. |

Speaker Gary Dreese Addresses his Experience in Federal Prison- April 14Mon, April 12, 2010 Marywood University’s Criminal Justice Club will host a presentation from Garry Dreese on turning life’s struggles into opportunities on Wednesday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in Media Room 160, Learning Resource Center. Mr. Dreese was indicted on federal drug charges and will speak about his experience and the obstacles he faced in jail and on parole, as well as the transition back into society. |
