Fall Academic Convocation to Honor Dalton Conley, Ph.D. - Sept. 16

Marywood University will celebrate Fall Academic Convocation and honor Dalton Conley, Ph.D., on September 16, at 11 a.m. in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts. Dr. Conley serves as a University Professor and Dean for the Social Sciences at New York University. He also serves as Adjunct Professor of Community Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is a Visiting Associate Professor of Sociology at both Yale and Princeton and serves as Senior Advisor to the United Nations Millennium Project.

Alan M. Levine, Ph.D. Named Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs

Alan M. Levine, Ph.D. has been named Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs for Marywood University. In his new position, he will serve as chief academic officer of the University, where he will provide leadership to the deans and faculty; oversee academic policy and priorities; maintain educational excellence, and provide oversight responsibility for the recruiting, hiring, retention, and performance of faculty.

Nutrition and Dietetics Department Receives Continued Accreditation

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Marywood University has recently been granted continued accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) for the Didactic Program in Dietetics, the Coordinated Program in Dietetics and the Dietetic Internship.

Gerald Zavorsky, Ph.D. will serve as the Director of the Human Physiology Lab and Associate Professor in the College of Health and Human Services at Marywood University. In his new position, he will manage the Human Physiology Lab and will conduct research with students on obesity, athletes, and aging.
