Reunion Weekend 2013

More than 400 alumni visited Marywood University’s campus, May 31-June 2, to celebrate Reunion Weekend—an annual gathering where generations of alumni have the opportunity to meet and mingle, reconnect and re-engage.

Mary Burke Tracy ’63, who is also a retired Director of Marywood’s Alumni Office, attended the weekend-long event. She was eager to discuss her relationship with the University after many decades. “Fifty years ago Marywood gave us many things,” she said. “Our college years gave us something infinitely precious: we found each other and became longtime, close friends.”

During the reunion, the Class of 1963 presented a check for $2,665,600 to Sister Anne Munley, IHM, which was reflective of their collective endowments, capital projects, and scholarships over the past five years.

“It is always a pleasure to be back on the Marywood campus to see the progress of development that has been made since the last Reunion I attended,” noted Cheryl D’Andrea Lottman ’73, who was celebrating her 40th Reunion. “The best part is being with fellow classmates to share and remember. As I looked through the yearbook before this Reunion, I realized that there are so many classmates who touched our lives during our time on campus.”

This year’s Reunion Weekend was also one of the most popular; more than 90 alumni from multiple classes volunteered to help organize the event, which resulted in a 14 percent increase in attendance.
The excitement generated by Reunion Weekend continues—the spirit of cooperation has sparked interest, prompting alumni to become more involved. A large committee has already formed and has begun planning next year’s event. Go to www.marywood.edu/reunion to get involved!
