Danielle Fleming (M.A. ’03; M.Ed. ’11)
2015 Recent Alumni Award of Excellence for Professional Achievement
Danielle Fleming has a passion for scents, which makes great sense—not to mention dollars and cents! Danielle is the founder, CEO, and olfactory genius “nose” behind NOTE Fragrances, a Boutique Perfumery and Custom Perfume Studio. Her fascination with the psychological response to scent led her to develop innovative companies that offer a fragrance experience unlike anything else on the market.
Danielle realized that she had—literally—a nose for business, and she embarked on a career of entrepreneurship. She has sold her products across the U. S., Canada, and Japan. They’re featured in gift boutiques and spas, including Marriott and Ritz Carlton Spas, Whole Foods, Hallmark stores, and QVC. She gained a celebrity following when her products were selected to be included in the prestigious Billboard Music Awards and Emmy swag bags. She is a leader in the global beauty industry and has been named among the Top 20 People to Know in the Global Cosmetic Industry by GCI Magazine.
She holds both an M.A. in Mental Health Counseling and an M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership from Marywood. She has served on the Alumni Board and as a MAC volunteer. She has taught on Marywood’s adjunct faculty and is a member of the School of Business and Global Innovation’s Advisory Board. For her fellow graduates, she is surely a “scent-sational” choice as recipient of the Recent Alumni Award of Excellence for Professional Achievement in this, the University’s Centennial Year of 2015.
