Welcome from the Director
You've got your cell phone. You've got your computer. You've got your modem. You think you're connected and ready to start the school year. Think again. Unless you're connected to the Marywood University Library, you may not know what you're missing. One of the biggest myths around is that everything is on the Internet and that it is free. The fact is very little serious research is available free on the Internet and some information is actually easier to find in print than online. In addition to our large collection of books and other reference materials, recordings, videos and other source materials, the library subscribes to an extensive collection of online journals and databases to meet the specialized needs of our students and faculty. In fact, our library offers the best of both worlds-extensive print resources and some of the finest electronic resources available. Using the library has never been faster, easier, or more comfortable. And, the library may be the only place on campus where you're not expected to know the answer. Librarians are there to help you find the answers; they are the ultimate search engine. The library is participating in The Campaign for America's Libraries sponsored by the American Library Association and the Association for College and Research Libraries. The goal is to increase awareness of the services and resources available @ your library. I encourage you to find out for yourself by stopping by or logging on. Get ahead. Get smart information.
