Book collections: Nonfiction
For school and public libraries. It contains informative abstracts and searchable full text for more than 3,500 popular nonfiction books. It includes full text entries on core subject areas, as well as information on careers, health, sports, adventure, technology, life skills and more.

Booklist Online

Provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature. From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources: peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts and articles. From off-campus sites, go to Google Scholar Preference page, and search for Marywood University. Then check the Marywood University box. You will be asked for your Marywood e-mail login to get access to articles that are part of Marywood's collection.

HighWire Press is the world's largest archive of free, peer-reviewed, full-text life sciences research with over 380,000 free full-text articles. The journals HighWire supports focus on science, technology, and medicine.

InfoTrac Databases
Includes the interdisciplinary Expanded Academic ASAP which provides comprehensive information on: Astronomy, Religion, Law, History, Psychology, Humanities, Current Events, Sociology, Communications and the General Sciences(1980 - current, with access to backfile 1980-1996). International Index to Music Periodicals
The current content from more than 370 international music periodicals from over 20 countries. Includes retrospective coverage from over 185 periodicals dating back as far as 1874. Provides access to biographies, bibliographies, and critical analyses of authors from every age and literary discipline. Covers more than 120,000 novelists, poets, essayists, journalists, and other writers, with in-depth coverage of 2,500 of the most-studied authors.

MLA Directory of Periodicals
Offers detailed information on over 7,100 journals, with 4,400 currently indexed in the International Bibliography. The detailed entries include editorial contact information, as well as frequency, circulation, subscription prices and submission guidelines.

MLA International Bibliography
Provides records related to literature, languages, linguistics and folklore. Includes citations for journals, books, essay collections, working papers, proceedings, dissertations and bibliographies dating back to 1963. Most commonly used for finding essays of criticism on literary works.

A digital collection of eBooks, eAudiobooks, and more. In order to view or check out an e-book, you must sign up as a NetLibrary user at a PC on Marywood University campus. After your initial sign-up, you'll be able to access the e-books from any PC, anywhere.

Newspaper Source
Provides selected full text for 25 national (U.S.) and international newspapers. Also contains full text television & radio news transcripts, and selected full text for more than 200 regional (U.S.) newspapers.

Novelist
A fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, and much more for over 135,000 fiction titles. It also includes other content of interest to fiction readers.

Allows you to discover the fiction titles that are popular with young readers as well as titles to use in the classroom.

Nutrition Care Manual
A publication of the American Dietetic Association. The online manual features information about risk screening, diseases, nutrition care, conversion calculators, a formulary, materials for client education, and a link for resources.

PSYCINFO (EBSCOhost)
Covers the international literature in psychology and related behavioral and social sciences including psychiatry, sociology,anthropology, education, pharmacology and linguistics.

Philosopher's Index
Covers the areas of ethics, aesthetics, social philosophy, political philosophy, epistemology, and metaphysic logic as well as material on the philosophy of law, religion, science, history, education, and language.

Pre-CINAHL
A companion database to CINAHL, Pre-CINAHL is intended to provide current awareness of new journal articles, and includes a rotating file of limited bibliographic information (no subject searching), which are available to researchers only for the time when these articles are being assigned additional indexing.

A a highly specialized collection of 520 high quality education journals, including nearly 350 peer-reviewed titles, plus more than 200 educational reports.

SPORTDiscus
Offers comprehensive, bibliographic coverage of sport, fitness and related disciplines. Contains over 650,000 records with journal and monograph coverage going back to 1800; over 20,000 dissertations and theses and reference to articles in 60 different languages.

ScienceDirect
Includes the full text of 91 Academic Press journals. The database improves access to scientific journals starting with the complete 1996 issues. Subject areas covered in this database are applied sciences, social sciences, dentistry, medicine, nursing, economics, business law and finance.

Social Work Abstracts
Contains records spanning 1977 to the present, from social work and other related journals on topics such as homelessness, AIDS, child and family welfare, aging, substance abuse, legislation, community organization, etc.

Web of Knowledge:Social Sciences Citation Index
Social Sciences Citation Index is a multidisciplinary index to the journal literature of the social sciences. Researchers can search citation data (from the footnotes of each article), taking a known, relevant paper or work and finding other, more recent papers that cite it. The database offers expanded search options, including the ability to locate all cited authors (not just first authors), track times cited information, and hotlink to first and subsequent generation articles.

A partially full text database featuring over 1,000 journals, major reference works, online books, current protocols, laboratory manuals, and databases as well as a suite of professional and management resources. Subject coverage includes business, finance and management, chemistry, computer science, earth science, education, engineering, law, life science, mathematics and statistics, psychology and physics.
