Policy Update - February 22, 2011
Marywood University's Institutional Review Board (IRB) has updated its policy concerning the use of copyrighted instruments in research. It will no longer be within the IRB's purview to ensure that copyright permission was obtained for the use of each instrument. With regard to standardized instruments, the IRB will only request information on the reliability and validity, as well as justification for instruments older than 10 years.
Please note that while the IRB will no longer ask for copyright permission, researchers must still adhere to all intellectual property regulations and policies.
