As Director of Human Participants Protection and Research Compliance, Courene administers the program protecting the rights and welfare of human participants in research, including operation of the Institutional Review Board and Exempt Review Committee. She manages the education and support of researchers in ethical practices, as well as adherence to federal regulations, laws and University policies.  An alumna of Marywood University, Courene holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design with a concentration in Photography and a Master's in Public Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management.  She is a member of Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research and is also a Certified IRB Professional (CIP®) through the organization.

Megan Tracy serves as the Research Graduate Assistant for the 2018-2019 academic year. As the assistant, she acts as the first point of contact for researchers within the University. Megan is able to provide assistance regarding submitting a research proposal, IRBNet, IRB policies, and various other topics related to the Exempt Review Committee and Institutional Review Board. She is passionate about research and the pursuit of new knowledge and she enjoys supporting others in these endeavors as well
