IRB Meeting & Application Submission Schedules

We recognize the need for the timely turnaround of your application. It is suggested that you apply at least 2 MONTHS prior to the start of your research for exempted or expedited review, or 3 MONTHS for full review. If you plan to graduate in a given sememster, please apply before the end of the semester prior to the one in which you will graduate (i.e. before the end of the fall sememster if you are graduating in the spring). Exempt/Expedited Application Deadlines For New Applications and Changes/Revisions to Previously Approved Research Turn around time is currently 3 weeks.  Please plan accordingly, especially during holiday periods, when processing may be slightly delayed. If the IRB requests modification to your submission, review of your resubmission should take 7-10 days.  You must submit your modifications within 6 months from initial IRB notification, otherwise the IRB will automatically withdraw your application.

Applications Due Tuesday, by 12:00 noon	You will receive a decision checklist from the IRB by Monday.

Applications received after the 12:00 noon Tuesday will be subject to the following week's submission cycle. Decision letters will be uploaded on IRBNet by Monday, three weeks following the initial processing of applications.

Please note that approval is not guaranteed within a definitive timeframe, especially during holiday periods and when offices are closed. The schedule is a guideline only, but we will make every effort to adhere to it.
