"Even after 30 years in front of a blackboard, I still try different approaches to teaching as the modes of learning by students keep evolving. The applications of modern mathematics keep growing exponentially. Fortunately, mathematics is a dynamic subject; it never rests on its laurels.

"I had an article published that concerned connections between mathematics and music. It focused on a set of inversions that were used as compositional techniques by many classical composers, such as Bach and Beethoven."
"I try to set an example of service that I believe is essential to the future of all of us. I have enjoyed participating in service trips. Nothing has made me prouder than watching our students volunteer their time and energy to help make the world a better place.
My main field it topology, a kind of abstract arena for the study of the shape and structure of space in various dimensions... simply put, I love mathematics. Its infrastructure rests on logic and rational thought...but it holds a beauty as pure as any other art form.
