As part of Marywood's month of thanks, we invite you to share your memories, wisdom and messages of thanks as we approach our Centennial in 2015. Your responses will be part of our time capsule which will be buried in our Centennial year. This Centennial time capsule will be buried on the site of the Motherhouse Memorial, linking our future to our very beginnings.
Please consider making a gift in memory of your experiences at Marywood.
Tom Meenaghan- Hands down one of the best teachers and mentors I'll probably ever experience. He was more interested in helping his students learn how to think about complex matters of social policy and social work practice than he was in telling them what to think about them. He was always very challenging and engaging, yet he was supportive and encouraging in ways that helped students rise to his challenges. He taught and led by example, too, practicing what he preached. His great sense of humor and relaxed, yet confident demeanor were icing on the cake, although as I recall his golf game needed some work. Having spent my career in higher education, Tom's professorial bar at Marywood back in the day remains the standard to which I aspire. Thanks, Tom. Whenever you are, I hope this finds you well.
