If you receive an email in your Marywood University account in January 2012 from the Alpha Epsilon Lambda Honor Society Selection Committee, it means you have met the academic criteria for the society. You must now make application to the Marywood University Theta Chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Lambda Honor Society so we may determine if you meet the leadership and community service requirements of our chapter.
Please download the admissions application and complete the form. The email you received that invited you to apply will have a control code. This control code will help us to verify authentic applicants, so please enter it on the application. The named applicant, Marywood ID Number, and contol code will be verfied against the invitation list to ensure you have already met the academic criteria. The deadline for application was 2:00 p.m. on 3/2/2012 so the University has disabled the application link.
Further, please type up the descriptive history of your leadership and community service history and attach it to the application when you mail it in. You must be able to document substantive and consistent volunteer involvement in either professional, religious, civic, or service organizations during the time of your graduate academic career at Marywood University. As you document the types and length of service you have with various community organizations, also include the name and address of the organization, an organization contact person, and the organization telephone number so that we may verify your application information. Please avoid the use of academic internships of all types as volunteer involvement.
All completed applications must be in the Office of the Provost and Academic Vice-President by Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time. At that time, two members of the Alpha Epsilon Lambda Honor Society Selection Committee will certify the list of completed applications to be reviewed by the Selection Committee. Knowledge of emailed solicitations to make application, completed applications, and conveyance of applications to their final destination are the responsiblity of the applicants. Applicants should plan ahead to ensure that applications arrive in a timely manner and become certified and eligible for review. Any late applications will receive an automatic notice of rejection from the Selection Committee.
The Alpha Epsilon Lambda Honor Society dinner and induction ceremony is usually held on a Friday evening in late April of each year. Culturally, this is an important academic event in the Marywood University community and the most significant tradition for the Theta Chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Lamda Honor Society each year. Tradition and an expectation of collegiality among graduate students anticipate the presence and participation of selected applicants at the dinner and induction ceremony.
If you should have question about the Theta Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Lambda Honor Society, the honor society of graduate and professional students, at Marywood University please contact us.
