The Master of Arts program is intended for graduates of schools and departments of art/art education who want to develop their talents as studio artists, illustrators and designers. Marywood’s MA in Studio Art can give you the opportunity to develop your conceptual and technical skills as professional artists. You can build a foundation for further professional growth and increase awareness of your role in contemporary society.

Classes are held in the Shields Center for Visual Arts and the Insalaco Center for Studio Arts, both equipped with the latest computers and 80,000 square feet of studio/gallery space.
Marywood’s Art Galleries provide the Marywood community and northeastern Pennsylvania with noteworthy cultural events. The Mahady Contemporary Gallery, located on the first floor, is a spacious and dramatic setting for the display of artwork. The Suraci Gallery, located on the second floor, maintains Marywood’s permanent collection of fine and decorative arts.
The Shields Center for Visual Arts houses the Maslow Collection, which includes over 500 works from 178 artists including prints by noted artists Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, and Robert Rauchenber.

Favorite Marywood moment: Spending the evening before finals in the Rotunda listening to friends sing and play music. Hearing the echo in the Rotunda and sharing that moment with my best friends was an experience I will always remember at Marywood.
Favorite place on campus: My favorite place is the Rotunda because it is the perfect spot to take a moment and relax. I also love admiring the artwork.
Favorite thing about being an Ambassador: I love seeing a prospective student’s face light up while on tour when they see something about campus that they are truly excited about.
Fun fact: I am obsessed with flowers.
