America Reads Reading is a key to success in education and in life. Unfortunately, many children fall behind in school because they do not learn to read early and read well. The goal of Marywood University's America Reads program is to have each child, by the time he or she completes third grade, have the skill and desire to read for instruction and for fun. Are you interested in helping children master the process of reading? We are looking for students who enjoy reading and are eager to help children discover the joys of reading for themselves. America Reads offers you the opportunity to choose the hours that are convenient for you, as often a week as you like. You will be placed in one of numerous facilities, including public and diocesan schools and day care centers. This program also offers you the unique opportunity to use it as work-study, field experience, and of course volunteer work.
