In recent years Peter Hoffer has explored a process of shaping and repositioning elements of previously printed works in the construction of new works. In his most recent pieces he appears to take that process further along to include a deep collage of vibrant colors. The complex unity of the richly textured and layered surfaces in each of these works exposes the subtle process of their making. Thus the works we now encounter reveal in part their histories transformed in a dance of patterns and composition that speak to their newly expressed individuality.
