The 8th International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art

The 8th Annual International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art (ICCCIA), with a theme of Post Industrial Iron, will take place in the historic "Electric City," Scranton, Pennsylvania. This five-day event will honor and celebrate the works of professionals, scholars, and students from around the world.
Marywood University will host a variety of exhibitions in conjunction with this conference. In the Shields Center for Visual Arts, The Mahady Gallery will have on exhibit Ferrous Wheel, a selection of works from the steering committee. The 2nd floor Suraci Gallery will feature Intent: A Tool Show, put together by guest curator Miranda Kyle. The Maslow Study Gallery for Contemporary Art will have curated works from The Maslow Collection that reflect the theme of the conference. Artists from The Maslow Collection in the exhibition are: Alice Aycock, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Scott Kelley, Stanley Marsh, Kevin O'Toole, Frank Owen, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Smithson, and Anthony Sorce. And the Kresge Gallery (Insalaco Center for Visual Arts) will display Transformed: Digital to Corporal, an exhibit curated by Kiana Honarmand.

May 31 - Gallery Tour: Linder Gallery at Keystone College, Everhart Museum, Marywood University's Mahady, Suraci, Maslow Study Gallery & Kresge Galleries, and Hope Horn Gallery at the University of Scranton
June 1 - First Friday Art Walk: Afa Gallery, Hope Horn Gallery at the University of Scranton, Conference Headquarters at the Steamtown Mall, Marquis Art & Frame Gallery, Cameraworks Gallery, Steamtown Historic Site, and demonstration by the Manhattan Iron Project
June 2 - Trip to Wilkes Barre: Sordoni Gallery at Wilkes University and Avoca Airport
Additional scheduled events are Panel Discussions (Conceptual & Technical), Workshops, Demonstrations, The Ferrous Flyer Train Excursion, Performances, and a Bethlehem, PA Field Trip.
