A multimedia exhibition of current work by Marywood University’s art faculty will be on display September 10th through October 9th in the Mahady Gallery at Marywood University, Scranton, PA. Showcasing the Art Department’s diversity and creative talent, and presented every other year, this year’s gallery exhibition includes over thirty-five full–time and part–time artist–teachers. Exhibited works represent an informative range from traditional approaches to the uniquely innovative in today’s art world. Marywood’s art faculty members actively exhibit their work nationally in museums and galleries, as well as participate in juried and invitational shows and exhibitions.
Marywood Art Faculty Biennial 2011 includes paintings, photography, collage, digital print media, drawings, illustrations, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media. An artists’ reception will take place on Saturday evening, September 10th from 6–8 PM, accompanied by Doug Smith Jazz Quartet.

A gallery talk will take place on Wednesday afternoon, September 14th at 3 PM in the Mahady Gallery, moderated by Art History professors Dr. Susan Brangers and Dr. Linda Dugan Partridge. The talk will provide students and the community with an opportunity to hear the art faculty speak to questions and issues regarding their work, including both the technical aspects of their creative processes and the ideas that inspire their art.
All events, including the reception, exhibition, and gallery talk, are free and open to the public. Mahady Gallery hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM; Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 AM to 8 PM; and weekends from 1 to 4 PM.
