Environmental artist, NANCY AGATI, to speak at Marywood University, Wednesday, November 28, 2013 @ 4:15 PM, Comerford Theatre, Natural Health and Sciences Center.
Nancy Agati is this year’s featured speaker in the annual Fresh Perspectives-New Solutions: Visiting Environmental Artist Series. Her exciting environmental work, in a variety of media and settings, has broad appeal.
Agati is based in Philadelphia, and her proximity to both Fairmount Park and the dense urban center has informed her work. She investigates nature’s processes and transformations through multi-dimensional drawings—in sculpture, video, site-specific installations, and virtual reality pieces.
Agati, who earned her MFA degree at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, has exhibited regionally and nationally. She has worked as an Artist in Residence at the Santa Fe Art Institute, and this past summer she was an Artist in Residence at Lo Studio dei Nipoti in Calabria, Italy. A resulting solo exhibit is slated at International Art & Artists, Hillyer Art Space, in Washington, DC for the 2013-14 season.
As part of the Fresh Perspectives-New Solutions: Visiting Environmental Artist Series, this event is free and open to the public. Reception following the lecture. For more information, please call 570.348.6278/Art Department.
