Marywood grants Maxis-Gillet Service Awards to undergraduate students, including incoming freshmen, who have demonstrated outstanding service to the community and are commited to continuing that service at Marywood.

Marywood University is rooted in a long-standing tradition of service to local, national, and international communities. In addition to providing a variety of service opportunities, Marywood University extends this commitment to community involvement through its Maxis-Gillet Service Award, named in honor of the founders of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother Theresa Maxis, IHM and Father Louis Gillet, CSsR.
A total of twenty $2,500.00 Service Awards are offered annually to full-time undergraduate students, including up to five first year, full-time undergraduate students who already have demonstrated outstanding service to the community and dedication to sustain that service while enrolled at Marywood. Maxis-Gillet Service Scholars are expected to participate in a minimum number of weekly community service hours and to assume a leadership role in community service activities coordinated through the Campus Ministry/Community Service Office.
The Maxis-Gillet Service Award is offered on a yearly basis through a re-application process for up to four years. Incoming freshmen are awarded annually by March 1.
