OBTAIN YOUR TAX TRANSCRIPT:

ONLINE | BY MAIL | PHONE REQUEST | PAPER REQUEST

Option 1 - GET TRANSCRIPT ONLINE

- View and print your transcript immediately (Most preferred method)

  • Navigate to http://www.irs.gov/
  • Navigate to the orange Tools header and Click “Get Transcript of Your Tax Records”
  • Click the blue button “Get Transcript Online”
  • You will receive a “This U.S. Government System is for authorized use only” message. Click OK.
  • Click on the blue Create an Account button
  • Enter your First name, Last name, Email, Confirm Email
  • Click on the blue “Send Email Confirmation Code”
  • Retrieve confirmation code from your email
  • Enter the email confirmation code within 30 minutes of receipt
  • Click the blue “Verify Email Confirmation Code”
  • Enter the tax filer’s SSN, DOB, tax filing status, Country, street address, city, state and ZIP Code. These must exactly match the data provided on your tax return.
  • You have the option to enter as a guest user or to create a user ID and password. We recommend that you NOT check the box for guest user, “Select checkbox and click the "Continue" button to proceed as guest. Proceeding as a guest user will require you to enter this information every time you access the system. If you would like this information stored for future use do not check the box. Click the "Continue" button to create a User ID and password.” We recommend that you elect to set up a user ID and password for future access if needed. That option will be presented to you in later steps.
  • Click “Continue”
  • You will be asked a series of personal identifying questions that only you will be able to answer. (Example: What is your mortgage payment?)
  • Set up a user ID and password. Please make note of your user ID and password for future use.
  • Select the reason for request “Higher Education/Student Aid”
  • You will be presented with the option to download a Return Transcript.
  • Under the blue Return Transcript header, click the tax year link for the appropriate tax filing year.
    • Select tax year 2013 for 2014-15 academic year
  • Save the PDF version of your Tax Return Transcript
  • Print the PDF version of your Tax Return Transcript
  • Write the student name and Marywood student ID number on the top right hand corner of each page of the Tax Return Transcript.
  • Mail, email or fax all pages of the PDF version of your Tax Return Transcript to:

Option 2 - GET TRANSCRIPT BY MAIL

– Request to obtain transcript by mail within 5 to 10 business days

  • Navigate to http://www.irs.gov/
  • Navigate to the orange Tools header and Click “Get Transcript for My Tax Records”
  • Click the blue button “Get Transcript by Mail”
  • You will receive a “This U.S. Government System is for authorized use only” message. Click OK.
  • Enter the tax filer’s SSN, DOB, street address and ZIP code. These must exactly match the data provided on your tax return.
  • Click Continue
  • Select transcript type of “Return Transcript” and select tax year.
  • Click Continue
  • If successfully linked, tax filers can expect a paper IRS Tax Return Transcript to be mailed to the specified address within 5-10 days.
  • Write the student name and Marywood student ID number on the top right hand corner of each page of the Tax Return Transcript.
  • Mail, fax or email all pages of your Tax Return Transcript to:

Option 3 - GET TRANSCIPT BY PHONE REQUEST

- Request transcript by automated attendant 1-800-908-9946

  • Call the IRS Transcript Order Line at 1-800-908-9946.
  • Be prepared to enter tax filer’s SSN and address.
  • Make sure to choose option #2 for a copy of a Tax Return Transcript.
  • Select tax year 2013 for the 2014-15 academic year.
  • If successfully linked, tax filers can expect a paper IRS Tax Return Transcript to be mailed to the specified address within 5-10 days.
  • Write the student name and Marywood student ID number on the top right hand corner of each page of the Tax Return Transcript.
  • Mail, fax, or email all pages of your Tax Return Transcript to:

Option 4 - GET TRANSCIPT BY PAPER REQUEST IRS FORM 4506-T

– Request a transcript by mailing form to IRS

  • Navigate to http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf to download Form 4506-T.
  • Complete form and submit form to the IRS. The address is state specific and is located on the form.
  • Please have the IRS send the transcript directly to you so that you may include the student's name and Marywood student ID number before forwarding it to our office.
  • Write the student name and Marywood student ID number on the top right hand corner of each page of the Tax Return Transcript.
